I have weddings on the brain this week, so I thought I’d share a few photos of Tom and Katierose’s Hamptons wedding. Scott and I had the pleasure of witnessing Tom and K-ro’s adventurous and supportive relationship up close when we were roommates in Federal Hill. Shortly thereafter, the two moved to Berlin, where they have made a great life for themselves that we were lucky to experience for a few days when we visited them on our honeymoon. Their wedding was a great mix of American roots and European flair.
Their ceremony was very intimate and warm—Tom’s sister hand-painted flags to flank the ceremony area, and each of the couple’s seven siblings shared their personal advice on marriage and well wishes for the future. Guests were also invited to share memories of the couple, which I thought was a really sweet touch. Lots of laughter and tears ensued.
One of my favorite things about the wedding is that both K-ro and Tom looked so much like themselves. Their attire stayed true to their wonderfully unique personalities—Tom wearing his gorgeous curly locks and vest, Katierose in a stunning hairpiece that nearly made me jump out of my chair in excitement. She said wearing it was “a must.”
At the reception, they served bbq and had tubs of citrus water in adorable mason jars. After eating, we all danced the night away to the songs of the couple’s DJ friend, who had flown in from Europe. As I was dancing I felt a wave of gratitude for knowing this wonderful couple and being included in this heartwarming celebration.
