Lovely readers, I am so excited: Scott and I are going on a New England road trip this July! We’ve been planning it for a while, but now that it’s just a few weeks away I can’t help but be absorbed in internet-stalking every possible fun place to stop along the way. I’ve never been far north before and can’t wait to see a Red Sox game in Boston, go sailing in Portland, and eat crusty bagels in Montreal (I’ve heard they rival New York’s). We’re also planning to hit the White Mountains in NH and make stops in Quebec City, Toronto and Niagra. I think it’ll be a great adventure, and I hope to share photos with you along the way. Do you have any suggestions for places to stop or things to see? I’d love to hear. xo

It’s not just a city in Norway, you know. This pint-sized puggeranian loves to sniff rose bushes, lick toes and take naps under the bed. He also has a penchant for pooing down drain pipes. My sister should spend summers in Vermont more often.

Oh, that buttery leather. Be still my heart.

Ahh, braids, I just can’t quit you. Pretty braids seem to be everywhere I look these days and yet my hard-earned french braiding skills circa 1993 summer camp are long gone.  I’m hoping this how-to series from InStyle magazine will have me back on the braided track pretty soon…now I just have to hold off on cutting my hair so I have something to work with.

…and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a few s’mores.

These bright purple hydrangeas are blooming on the side of my house, and the man who lives across the street told me they’re the prettiest in the whole neighborhood. He looks like he’s in his 50s, doesn’t have a job and still lives with his mom, so I’m pretty sure he’s a reliable source. I can’t wait to bring a few blooms inside this weekend, and I hope your weekend’s filled with fresh flowers and happiness too. xo

Am I the only one who thinks Father’s Day came out of nowhere this year? I’ve been scrambling to find the perfect last-minute gift for my Dad and thought I’d share some fun options in case you’re in the same boat as me. I found these with my father/father-in-law in mind, but I think they’d be good for any proud papa.

A classic messenger bag for sporting around office papers and a laptop…

A national park system map, to remind him of his trips to Yellowstone and Mount Rainier…

A new wallet made out of old neckties to remind him of Father’s Day gifts of years past…

A nautical paperweight to hold things down on his messy desk…

A subscription to the beer of the month club, so he has something to go in all of those pint glasses mom collects…

And to cap it off, a sweet card (via Cup of Jo) for the manly man with 4 daughters.

Happy early Father’s Day to all the baby (and lady) daddies out there!

I’m in the mood for eggies flo
And nothing else will do
Spinach, eggs, hollandaise
an english muffin too.

Add a slice of fresh salmon
I will be just thrilled
Give me a fork and five minutes
my happy belly will be filled…

Hi, I'm Pam. I'm a runner, reader and recent MBA grad living in Baltimore with my husband. I work in PR, but I spend my off-hours writing here about my life, which mostly revolves around family, friends, fashion and fitness. Sometimes I throw in the occasional food photo just to make sure you're paying attention.
